8th graders, tomorrow, Valentine's Day, school counselors will be in your science class to collect your 9th grade Serrano pink CRC. Please make sure it has your parent/guardian's signature and that it's in your backpack.
Tomorrow wear pink and/or red for Valentine's Day! Also, ASB will have a Valentine for you on Friday morning! Your job is to find your valentine and take it up to an ASB member before school on Friday. You need to have your schedule or ID card verifying that the valentine belongs to you for a little treat!
Did you earn a Qtr 3 Renaissance Sticker? If so, find Mrs Canchola or Ms Maria during your lunch this Friday (Valentine's Day) for a SWEET treat to say thank you for doing such a great job academically and for having good behavior! Bring in your ID Card that shows your Qtr 3 sticker to receiver your free surprise!
All Young Author stories are due next Friday, the 21st. Be sure to follow the format sheet before turning in to room I-7.
Are you interested in Quail Valley Cheerleading? Tryouts for next year will start on Tuesday, March 10th. You can pick up an information packet in the ASB office or in room I-13. You must have a current physical in order to participate. This will be the only tryout for next year's team. See you there.
Students! Be sure to check the Locker Room Lost and Found as well as the Lost and Found in the Cafeteria for items you may be missing. Any items left after Friday the 21st will be donated to charity.
All 8th graders interested in attending the field trip by train to the California Science Center and seeing the Endeavor Space Shuttle: eligibility letters and permission slip packets can be picked up from your 8th grade science teachers today! Red and White Ren Card holders can turn their signed permission forms in today until spots are filled, Blue Card holder sign ups start tomorrow (Thursday) until filled, and all eligible students may start signing up this Friday the 14th! Turn in your signed permission slips and $10 to Mrs. Maria in the ASB office to secure your spot on either March 3rd or March 10th. Sign up fast; this trip is going to be out-of-this-world!!
Girls' soccer tryouts are coming up at the end of February! If you are interested, you can get a flyer from your PE teacher or Mr. Grijalva in I-11. You must have a current sports physical on file in order to tryout.
Here are some activities that are available during lunch:
· Monday's & Friday's - Basketball - Participants will be determined by Admin.
In order to play, you Must EAT first. Line up along the gym wall across from the Cougar Support Center, but not until at least 10 minutes into lunch.

Calling all Snowline artists, creative individuals, masterpiece makers and creators! The 20th~annual Young Artist Contest is off and running!~ Entries should be turned in to the office with a completed entry form signed by your parent/guardian.~ Entry deadline is March 13, 2020.~~
Start putting your acts together for the 23rd annual Quail Valley talent show. Auditions will be in March, but it’s not too early to start thinking and practicing. More information will be coming later.
Room H-10 is open for tutoring every morning, Monday through Friday. Come and get help with your homework or just have your work checked for accuracy.

Chess Club -- Come learn to play the game of Kings. Chess Club meets Tuesdays in room H5 starting at 8:15. All levels are welcome - we will teach those who don't know how to play.

Christian Club – meets on Tuesday after school in room K-1 3:45 – 4:30
Science Olympiad – meets every Tuesday after school from 3:45-4:30pm in Ms. Baldwin’s room G-3. Please arrange for a parent to pick you up from school at 4:30 after our meeting.
Academic Pentathlon – meets Wednesday mornings at 8:00. 6th grade meet in Ms. Baldwin’s room G-3, 7th/8th grade meet in Mr. Hayes’ room, H-3. See you there! Pentathlon wear shirts on Wednesday. Old ones are okay too
Knitting Club – Are you interested in learning how to knit? Knitting Club starts this Wednesday, in room I-5 at 8 am. See Mrs. Miller in I-5 if you have any questions.
