Congratulations to the Quail Valley Cadet Corps for placing 2nd~~in the color guard category against 4 middle schools across the high desert. This was their first Drill Competition. The following cadets were part of the color guard (in order of march): Cadet Ignacio Gonzales, Senior Rifleman; C/CPL Angel Esparza, US Flag & Color Guard Commander; Cadet Monica Salazar, CA Flag; & Cadet Mason Burg, Junior Rifleman. All participants earned the Drill Competition Ribbon and a Silver Star designation for second place.
Congratulations to Madisyn Foulk who has been invited to the 2020 middle school showcase for basketball!! The girls are selected by a committee and Madisyn is the first Junior Varsity player to be picked to represent their school and the only player from Quail!! If anyone would like to watch Maddy and all of the other all-stars from the middle schools, the game will be on March 28th at Victor Valley High School at 9:00 a.m.
8th Grade Science Field Trip - Everyone who has signed up and is attending the 8th grade science center field trip on 3/10 must meet in the front of school by 6:30am Tuesday morning. The bus will leave promptly at 6:45am. Don't be late! Wear comfortable walking shoes and bring a coat and umbrella; we are expecting rain during our field trip.
MDAQMD is doing their annual Clean Air Month Poster Contest. Please note that several students from every grade level have the chance to win cash and prizes!~ Also each entry is automatically entered in a drawing to win a bike! Pick up a flyer in the main office.
Students, please be sure to check the lost and found area in the cafeteria. The lost and found will be emptied before spring break, so stop by and take a look to recover your items.
Our next, and last dance of the year is on Monday, March 9! It's the Netflix dance, and will be a blast! You can buy your tickets during lunchtime outside of the ASB office starting this Thursday. Tickets will only be sold at lunch. It's $1 for the 6th grade party and $3 for 7/8th grade. If a student has 3 or more referrals, detentions or a suspension, they may not attend.
50's Day is this Friday, 3/13! Some clothing items you could wear would be sneakers, rolled up jeans, poodle skirts, cardigans, bows in your hair, rolled up white t-shirt sleeves, and leather jackets! Earn $10 Cougar Cash!
The ASB office will only be open from 12pm-4:15pm. Please wait until lunch or after school if you need anything from Ms. Maria.
Are you interested in Quail Valley Cheerleading? Tryouts for next year will start on Tuesday, March 10th. You can pick up an information packet in the ASB office or in room I-13. You must have a current physical in order to participate. This will be the only tryout for next year's team. See you there.
All students interested in competing for the Quail Valley Track and Field Team:
The first practice will begin on Monday, March 16th after school until 5.~ All athletes must have a sports physical on file with Mr. McKenzie, as well as a GPA of at least 2.0, with no U's and no more than 1 F.

Calling all Snowline artists, creative individuals, masterpiece makers and creators! The 20th~annual Young Artist Contest is off and running!~ Entries should be turned in to the office with a completed entry form signed by your parent/guardian.~ Entry deadline is March 13, 2020.~~
Room H-10 is open for tutoring every morning, Monday through Friday. Come and get help with your homework or just have your work checked for accuracy.
Chess Club -- Come learn to play the game of Kings. Chess Club meets Tuesdays in room H5 starting at 8:15. All levels are welcome - we will teach those who don't know how to play.
Christian Club – meets on Tuesday after school in room K-1 3:45 – 4:30
Science Olympiad – meets every Tuesday after school from 3:45-4:30pm in Ms. Baldwin’s room G-3. Please arrange for a parent to pick you up from school at 4:30 after our meeting. This Friday there is a mandatory Science Olympiad Meeting at 3:45pm. This will be our final meeting before the competition on Saturday. Wear Science Olympiad team shirts on Friday.
Academic Pentathlon – meets Wednesday mornings at 8:00. 6th grade meet in Ms. Baldwin’s room G-3, 7th/8th grade meet in Mr. Hayes’ room, H-3. See you there! Pentathlon wear shirts on Wednesday. Old ones are okay too
Knitting Club – Are you interested in learning how to knit? Knitting Club meets on Wednesdays, in room I-5 at 8 am. See Mrs. Miller in I-5 if you have any questions.
