Yesterday, the Quail Valley Track Team competed in the HDAL Track and Field Championships at Silverado High School.~ The boys team won 7 gold medals in the 14 events and won the boys team championship.~ The boys 4x400 team of Noah Scaletta, Jaiden Espinoza, Elijah Smith and Julian Jeong won the gold medal.~ Noah also won gold in the 400 meter dash and Julian won the gold in the 800.~ The boys 4x100 team of Anthony Potter, Jonathan Estrada, Noah Scaletta and Jaiden Espinoza won the silver medal.~ Potter also took 2nd in the 100 meter dash and 3rd in the 200.~ Erick Machuca won the boys 1600 meter and took 2nd in the 800 meter.~ Lucas Glaze took 3rd in the 3200.
Xyrie Goeson led the way for the girls by taking gold in the 2 mile and silver in the mile.~ The girls 4x100 relay team of RajaNae Doby, Simone Barnes, Tiniya Murray and Micaiah Robinson took 2nd place.~ Rajanae also took the bronze in the 200 and Micaiah was 3rd in the 100 meter dash.~ The girls 4x400 team of Brianna Bowman, Simone Barnes, Betty Quintanilla and Paris Campbell took home the silver medal.~ Brianna also took the silver in the 800, while Olivia Rodriguez was third.~ Haley Pratt was 3rd in the 3200 meters.

7th Graders - are you interested in learning Spanish next year as an 8th grader and enjoying the benefits of being bilingual? Pick up a registration form from your Language Arts teacher and turn your form in to the main office.
Don't forget, if you're trying out for ASB next year, the packets are due to the ASB office by Tuesday, May 7. You can always turn them in early!
A summer basketball camp will be held at Serrano High School June 24 – 28. For information, pick up a flyer in the main office.
The Fantastic STEAM Night at Quail Valley is coming Friday May 3 from 5:30-7:30. Bring your families to this FREE night to see a Helicopter up close, Rock Crawlers, Cal Fire, Animals, AMR Ambulance, Many Hands on activities with electricity, density, chemistry, and more! Plus, bring money for the food vendors that will be selling Tacos, hamburgers, ribs, chicken, nachos, Kona Ice, Juice it Up, and more.
The deadline for entries for the 2nd Annual Young Poet’s Showcase is May 3rd. Snowline poets and their work will be recognized at the Snowline Board of Trustees meeting on Tuesday, May 28.
If you're a 7th grader whose parents could not attend the meeting last week for the East Coast trip in 2020, informational fliers are available with all 7th grade teachers. Registration takes place over the phone or online. $95 reserves your spot on the 2020 trip. If you have any questions, go see Ms. Mankins in room H6.
Intramural Basketball starts Monday May 6th after school and ends at 5. Pick up a permission slip and calendar from Mr. Conkle.
You must have the permission slip turned in to participate. NO SPORTS PHYSICAL necessary. Make sure you have your rides ready to get you at 5:00. Any questions see Mr. Conkle
All Track students--Please pay attention.
If you are staying afterschool for track practice, you are to go directly afterschool to get changed & go to the field for practice. Please do not hang around in the quad to take selfies or walk your friends out to the bus area. Go directly to the locker rooms & get changed for practice.
Names of students showing up late for practice will be given to Mr. McKenzie to determine if you will be participating in track meet events.

Room H-10 will be opened for tutoring, mornings at 8:25, on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays for all students.
The big Blue Recycling containers around campus are NOT trashcans. Please do not put food or trash in them. They are for water bottles or aluminum cans only (no paper trash). The money that is collected from recycling goes directly back to students to sponsor events such as field trips. Please respect the blue bins.
Did you run out of paper? Forget your pencil at home? Never fear, the Student Store is here! Come down to the ASB office to purchase basic school supplies for only $0.25 or $0.50 each.
