Announcements

October 23, 2019
Today’s schedule is 345612
All cross country athletes:
Please turn in your clean, washed jersey to Mr. McKenzie.
The Cougar Game Room will be open all 3 lunches today. It's 3 QVMS tickets for one student, or 5 tickets for 2 students. You do not need to sign up! Just bring your QVMS tickets to lunch with you.
Would you like to have the opportunity to help those going through cancer treatment? If you donate $1 before school tomorrow and Friday, you'll get a Heavenly Hats ticket! Your $1 will go towards an organization that gives patients beanies and head coverings when they lose their hair during chemotherapy. Plus, your ticket will allow you to wear a head covering in class on Friday! You can donate even if you don't want to wear a head covering because 100% of the money goes towards the foundation!
Are you trying to improve your grades? H-10 will be open Tuesday through Friday for tutoring to help. Come in at 8:25am and sign-in. If you ride the bus, just come anyway! We can help you check your work before you turn it in. Remember: Tutoring in H-10, Tuesday through Friday, starting at 8:25am.
Attention all 8th graders NOT signed-up for the East Coast trip in June 2020: The trip has changed. It is now a 7day trip. This change has lowered the price. We are still visiting the cities of New York, Washington DC, Philadelphia, and Baltimore. If your parents/guardians are still considering sending you on this trip, you can sign-up anytime ONLINE. If you need the information for signing-up, go see Ms. Mankins in room H6!
Students: Just a reminder that when we have home athletic events like Wrestling, Volleyball, Basketball, Soccer, etc. on Early Release days, students MUST go home when school is released at 2:25pm. We cannot allow students to be on campus unsupervised until the events begin at 4:00pm.
Our next home athletic even on an Early Release day is Wrestling this Thursday, Oct 24th.
As a reminder, only water is allowed in the gym (no food or other drinks).
Once students are inside the gym, they must remain inside the gym until a parent arrives to pick them up. Restrooms are open in the gym if needed. Parents must park and come to the doors of the gym to pick up their child as we do not allow students to wander around campus or out in the parking lot (especially as it is beginning to get dark earlier) to wait for their ride.
Behavior expectations for sports events are explained on page 7 of the Binder Reminder which indicates that all school rules still apply to all school sponsored activities. Failure to follow appropriate behavior expectations may result in the denial of the privilege to attend events unless accompanied and directly supervised by a parent/guardian.
Thank you for supporting out athletes and in helping Quail Valley ensure a safe environment for all participants.
