10/23/17

October 23, 2017
Today’s schedule is 7135

I am extremely proud of all The Quail Valley Wrestlers in defeating Hesperia last Thursday by a score of 54 to 24. It was a total team effort. Elijah Jones, Blake Chaffee, Tanner Chaffee, Julian Jeong, James Butler, and Angelo Franco all pinned their opponents. Our last match of the season is tomorrow against Barstow at Barstow. Thanks for supporting your Quail Valley Wrestlers.

Attention Yearbook people.  Wear your yearbook shirts on Wednesday.  We will be taking pictures immediately after announcements.

Thank you to those of you that are still collecting and bringing Box Tops for Education to school. Please trim the box tops for education labels from General Mills cereal boxes, Betty Crocker and Kleenex products and many more. Put the box tops in a bag with your name on it and bring it to I-5 to receive a prize.  Thank you!

Here is an opportunity for you to do something special, kind, and considerate for any teacher or any staff member on campus.  Mrs. Canchola has some special Thank You cards in her office.  If you would like to THANK a teacher (or ANY other adult on campus)--come to Mrs. Canchola's office & get a special Thank you card that will then be delivered on your behalf.  You can do this all year long (not just this week)!

School Facility Upgrades and Technology Update

Hi Parents/Guardians

I wanted to let you know about some new information and Updates regarding upgrades to school facility and technologies:

  • English Classes: All students will have a computer to use in class with next years New Adopted Curriculum.
  • Math/Science: Classes will have enough computers for more than 1/2 of the students in their classes.
  • Social Studies: Classes have a full computer cart to use or have access to one of three Computer labs on campus.
  • We have 3 Full Classroom Sets for each Computer Lab on Campus.
  • All Electives have either a full classroom set of computers or access to a full set.
  • We have approximately 250 computers for 6th grade, over 200 for 7th grade and over 200 for 8th grade in classes.
  • We will be adding Two (2) Large Screen Monitors in the Cafeteria to help students remember announcements and other important information that is necessary re: Campus Expectations, Activities, Reminders and much more.
  • Offices are going through a modernized make-over to enhance a more positive environment.
  • Digital Marquee has been added to increase and enhance our communications with School to Home.
  • A New Computer Based Elective has been added to encourage and support "creative production" in the area of coding and web design.
  • Apple Based IPAD with Stylus option for our Digital Art elective class.
  • Adding more Boe-Bots to our Computer Technology elective class to increase and encourage more coding/programming robotic hardware.

It is our hope and plan to continue to stay up on new technologies that provide students with another avenue of learning for the 21st Century Career.

We will continue to communicate new information as we receive it.

Thank you for your support

Mr. Bennett

Just a REMINDER TO STUDENT AND PARENTS

Students:  If you arrive tardy to school due to going out for breakfast, Starbucks, etc.--please remember that you may not go late/tardy into class eating your food or drinks (Starbucks included).   Food and drinks must be finished (or thrown away) before going to class.

Reason: This is considered a "distraction" which causes more disruption for the rest of the class. Thank you
